Fans of Mexico’s most famous and successful Formula 1 driver Sergio Perez now have the unique opportunity to own this special Monaco edition helmet from “Checo’s” first race at the principality.

Description

Checo’s Monaco Grand Prix helmet still incorporates the same design and base colours as used on the regular helmet worn at most Grand Prixs. The fluorescent yellow which Perez has carried for the majority of his racing career is supported by a red top and white and green detailing and accents which are a nod to the Mexican flag. The helmet is finished with subtle glitter touch and Perez and Sauber’s 2012 sponsors and branding. It also includes a tribute to Mexican comedian Roberto Gómez Bolaños and his TV show, El Chapulín Colorado.

History

After his Formula 1 debut in 2011 with the Sauber team, Sergio Perez was not able to race in the 2011 Monaco Grand Prix following a massive accident at the Nouvelles chicane. The accident left Checo with a concussion and he was not cleared to race.

Perez stayed on with the team for 2012 and continued to prove his talent with three impressive podium finishes in the Malaysian, Canadian and Italian Grand Prixs. At his first race in Monaco that year, Perez survived a chaotic race and only just missed a points finish.
