Description
Details Add a touch of Ferrari red to your motorsport collection, home or office with this incredibly detailed 1:18 scale model of the Ferrari 126C2 Formula 1 car, driven by the great Gilles Villeneuve in 1982. |
Description This diecast is specifically modelled on the car raced at the San Marino Grand Prix, the last Formula 1 race that the Canadian would take part in before tragically losing his life in the Belgian Grand Prix at Zolder just two weeks later. The model replicates all of the technical and cosmetic details that were featured on the 1982 Ferrari F1 challenger and is also mounted on a beautiful leather plate, finished in Ferrari red. |
History The San Marino Grand Prix will forever be remembered for the titanic battle between Villeneuve and his teammate Dider Peroni and because of the controversial nature of Peroni’s win. The Canadian was outraged as he believed his Ferrari teammate ignored team orders to take the victory away from Giles. In his short Formula 1 career, Gilles Villeneuve won six Grand Prix’s, stood on the podium 13 times and started from pole position twice. |
