Description

Alesi’s helmet design remained virtually unchanged throughout his Formula 1 and racing career. A white background complimented with blue, red and black details and patterns made sure he was one of the most recognisable drivers in the sport. The helmet also features the team’s Marlboro sponsorship branding, which was always placed on the crown of the helmet.

History

1995 marked the Frenchman’s fourth season with Ferrari but he was yet to achieve a Grand Prix victory. That all came to an end at that year’s Canadian Grand Prix. Alesi started from P6 but quickly moved up to second place, but against the dominant Benetton of Michael Schumacher, it looked as if F1’s “nearly man” would have to settle for second place. But when a gearbox problem struck the Benetton with just 11 laps to go, Alesi claimed the lead and held on for his sole Grand Prix victory.

Alesi would finish the season in P5 in the drivers’ standings, outscoring his highly rated teammate Gerhard Berger, and would help the Italian manufacturer take third place in the constructors’ standings.
