Add a touch of nostalgia to your Grand Prix and motorsport collection with this race used Formula 1 crash helmet from Jarno Trulli’s debut Formula 1 season back in 1997.

Description

In the early stages of Trulli’s F1 career, he wore Bieffe helmets and sported a simple blue and white design which also incorporated the colours of the Italian tricolour. Trulli’s helmet was finished with the Prost Grand Prix team’s sponsorship logos, including Playstation. This race used helmet has been signed by the 2004 Monaco Grand Prix winner himself.

History

The Italian would start his first Formula 1 season with the Italian minnows at Minardi. However, after eight races, Trulli moved across to the new Prost Mugen Honda (which team owner Alain Prost had bought and renamed from 1996 Monaco GP winners Ligier) following Olivier Panis’ catastrophic accident at the Canadian Grand Prix.

Trulli made an immediate impression driving for the four-time world champion’s team, finishing in 10th place at the team’s home race before finally scoring their first points at the German Grand Prix, with a 4th place finish. Whilst the Italian wasn’t able to break into the top six for more points, he had done enough to secure himself a full-time drive for 1998.
