This is for the true Fernando Alonso and Formula 1 fan. We are very proud to present to you this race used, battle scared Arai Grand Prix helmet from the Spanish driver's 2016 F1 campaign with the McLaren Honda team.

Description

This Arai GP-6RC helmet features all of the McLaren team's branding and sponsorship decals, even on the visor strip and of course the Catalan driver's racing colours of blue, white and red, which represent the Catalan and Spanish flags.

The helmet has not been tampered with since it's last use in the 2016 Formula 1 season and therefore still has all of the battle scars and chips which Alonso will have sustained in the heat of battle.

History

2016 marked Alonso's second season with the woking based team but after a troublesome 2015 in the wake of McLaren's new partnership with Honda, the problems continued. The team still battled reliability issues and were not as competitive as planned but despite this, Alonso broke into the top 10 on seven occasions, with a best finish of 5th place in the dramatic United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.

Alonso would end the season in 10th place with 54 points and helped his McLaren team to 6th position in the constructors championship - A drastic improvement on their 9th place finish the previous season.
