History

Prior to his arrival in Formula E, Alexander Sims had been cutting his teeth in the GT arena as a BMW driver, competing in some of the biggest championships in the world such as the Blancpain Endurance Series (now GT World Challenge Europe), British GT and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In his first season in the sport, Sims managed his first ever pole position at the last race in New York. The Englishman would also go on to take his first ever podium finish with second place.

Sims would continue with the BMW I Andretti team for one more season, setting a bit of history along the way as the first driver to take a hat trick of Formula e pole positions, before moving to the Indian Mahindra team (where he currently is now).
