2012 Romain Grosjean Helmet
Team: Lotus F1
Driver Status: Race Driver
Homologation #: N/A
2012 marked Romain Grosjean's first full-time season in Formula 1. having spent the last 7 races of 2009 as Nelson Piquet JR's replacement at the Renault works team. Grosjean hit the ground running with the Lotus F1 team as he qualified in 3rd place but was unfortunately a retirement in the race, after contact with Maldonado's Williams. However, Grosjean showed his pace and promise by finishing on the podium for the first time in Bahrain, just 4 rounds in. It wasn't the smoothest season for the French driver, as he had collisions with other drivers in the Monaco, British, Japanese and infamously at the Belgian Grand Prix, but Grosjean's lightning fast pace meant Lotus kept him on for 2013, when Romain would go on to score six podium finishes. Grosjean's helmet design remained virtually unchanged, with only a slightly modified version being run for the final race of the season in Brazil. The Bell helmet features Grosiean's colours, which he carried over from his previous season in GP2 (now F2) and incorporates all of the Lotus F1 team's branding and sponsorship decals. The helmet is even fitted with the 50mm zylon strip which lives on the top of the visor and is there to give drivers extra protection.
