Talk about a rare find! This race suit was worn by the 2009 Formula 1 World Champion and 7 season long McLaren Formula 1 driver, Jenson Button during qualifying for the 2011 Spanish Grand Prix.

Worn Formula 1 race suits do not come along very often, and special one-off suits like this are even harder to come by, don’t squander the opportunity, especially if you are a supporter of McLaren or Jenson Button.   

History

2011 marked McLaren’s 30th anniversary with fashion giant, Hugo Boss. To the mark this milestone in their partnership, McLaren, Hugo Boss and Sparco Official (who provide McLaren with their racing suits) opened the door for the fans to customise the racing suits for Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. One design was selected for each of the 19 race weekends and would be worn by the drivers during Qualifying day.

For the Spanish Grand Prix, both drivers sported this Catalan inspired race suit featuring the colours from the Spanish flag and iconic Art NoVo cathedral on the back of the suit. Button would enjoy a strong Spanish Grand Prix, qualifying in fifth position, the former world champion would go on to finish in third place on the podium, despite initially falling back at the start.
