Celebrate the life and career of one of Italy’s most successful racing drivers, Michele Alboreto with this special set of race worn Sparco overalls.

Description

These overalls were worn by the Porsche Joest driver for the following year in his USA racing exploits (note the USA sportscar logo). This suit carries a few scuffs and battle marks from Alboreto’s time in the Porsche LMP1-98 as well as the team’s factory branding and sponsorship badges of long-time partner Mobil 1.

History

Alboreto was most well-known for his 1985 Formula 1 campaign, when he won two Grand Prix’s driving for the iconic Ferrari Formula 1 team and challenged Alain Prost for the world title that season. The Italian’s title challenge was thwarted by reliability problems but nevertheless, it was a very impressive effort from Alboreto.

After 13 seasons in Formula 1, the Milanese racer switched to sportscars where he enjoyed great success - Most notably winning the 1997 Le Mans 24 Hours with Team Joest Porsche.
