1997 Jacques Villeneuve - Signed
F1 fans can now decorate their living or office space and upgrade their memorabilia collection with this signed and framed photograph of Jacques Villeneuve from the dramatic 1997 F1 season finale in Jerez. Frame measures 30 x 38.5 cm.
This signed photograph has been professionally framed and kept in great condition. The photograph shows Villeneuve driving his FW19 (dressed in the iconic Rothmans Racing livery) around the famous Jerez circuit.
In 1997 Villeneuve was in his second season in Formula 1, driving for the all conquering Williams team, and was in contention for the world title, having taken 7 wins prior to the final round of the season, the European Grand Prix at Jerez.
Villeneuve started on pole with a lap time of 1:21.072 but fell behind Michael Schumacher and Heinz-Harald Frentzen at the start. However, by the time the final pitstops were complete, the Canadian was in second place, right behind the two time world champion, looking to take the lead.
The two drivers famously collided, with Schumacher retiring from the race, and with the worry of a damaged car Villenueve dropped to third place behind both McLarens, but scored enough points to take his one and only world title.
To date, Villeneuve's title remains the last time Williams won the FIA Formula 1 World Drivers' Championship.
