This Benetton Tyrell race suit is a very rare find and it was race used in the 1983 Formula 1 World Championship.

Description

Used during the 1983 pre-season, this Sparco suit carries the official Benetton branding as well as a couple of the team’s partner’s logos. A few battle scars can be identified on the suit, giving the overalls an authentic feel.

History

In 1983, Benetton (the world famous Italian clothing company) came onboard as a
primary sponsor for the Tyrell and with the fresh injection of money, Ken Tyrell and
his team was able to develop the car properly and the team created a light and
nimble machine. However, it was no match for the turbo powered cars of the time
and the car only managed one win that season with young Italian, Michele Alboreto.
The Italian’s teammate, Danny Sullivan from the United States didn’t enjoy the same
success and scored just two points in the Monaco Grand Prix.
